Giving Back for the Holidays

As the holiday season draws closer, we’re excited to share a few of the great community involvement efforts we’ve been participating in!

FP Restoration is a local company, and we try to stay involved with our neighbors as much as we can. The holiday season represents a time for us to give back to our community and share our success with others. Each year, we try to highlight important local causes that really make a direct impact on the people and families living in our area. Starting next week, we’re beginning our fundraising activities to help these three great organizations.

One organization that we try to help with each year is The Heights Foundation Thanksgiving Outreach program. The Heights Foundation’s mission is to support education and wellness, promote family and community development, and provide the benefits of enrichment and the arts. In Harlem Heights, the community and family income is 40% below the Lee county average. Given the current Corona pandemic, families have found themselves dealing with unforeseen hardships and are struggling to make ends meet. Food banks have seen an increase in people needing donations, and during Thanksgiving, this problem is sure to the peak. This is why The Heights Foundation and The Heights Center is organizing Thanksgiving Outreach programs within the neighborhood. If you’re interested in learning more about their work or getting involved, visit their website.

Another organization that we like to support is the Restoring Christmas Toy Drive. This Toy Drive goes to benefit some of the most special kids around, those who’ve been placed in foster care. Children in the foster care system already face increased hardships, but during Christmas we want them to feel like any other kid. This organization helps to do that. When you donate, you’ll be directly giving a child in need the opportunity for a great holiday. The people running this organization take the Christmas wish lists directly from each kid, and buy that child the gifts they want (all within a $60 budget). To learn more about their work, check out their Facebook page.

Lastly, we are happy to be supporting Bridge for Hope of SWFL. BFH of SWFL is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping the less fortunate in our community- one person at a time. Their services include: running a mobile soup kitchen, maintaining a mobile food pantry, and providing basic essentials to persons that are doing without. They also hold special events throughout the year such as providing Thanksgiving meals or Christmas backpacks (with basic essentials) to the homeless population of SWFL. FP Restoration is proud to give back to them throughout the year, and this Holiday Season is no exception! Their latest project is to provide Thanksgiving dinner to 35 in need families.
